- Goals to reduce emissions 50 percent over business as usual by 2020 and reach climate neutrality by 2050
- Faculty, staff and student engagement through the Climate Action Plan Task Force and Sustainability, Energy and Environment Advisory Committee
- Quantification of reductions in metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, one-time costs, annual costs, annual cost savings, annual return on investment and net lifetime effectiveness
Colorado State University Climate Action Plan
Charting a Path to Climate Neutrality
Brendle Group provided technical assistance to develop Colorado State University’s Climate Action Plan. Intended to fulfill the University’s obligation under the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), the Climate Action Plan is long-term Plan to achieve carbon neutrality through the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency, carbon sequestration in forests, solid waste diversion, water conservation, transportation measures and green building.
Brendle Group reviewed the University’s greenhouse gas inventory, developed a business-as-usual forecast for greenhouse gas emissions growth over the Plan’s timeframe and participated in the identification and analysis of reduction strategies. Short, medium and long-term goals were then developed to reach climate neutrality by 2050. The Plan was developed with extensive engagement of staff, faculty and students through a Climate Action Plan Task Force and Sustainability, Energy and Environment Advisory Committee.
